One thing mountain men craved was whisky, and there is plenty of that in camp, but for today's pallet many prefer lighter drinks or mixed drinks (As for me, I always thought Ice was a mixer)

 
    This is not for the faint at heart, and taste much like some of the mountain whiskeys taste. It may not taste the best but will warm you

This is a good drink for a Flask or a small Jug

Fill the Flask or Jug with Bourbon and add a bit of Tabasco.

Mix equal amounts of 151-Proof Rum and 100-Proof Peppermint Schnapps

Bourbon
Water
Dry Lemonade mix (or appropriate amount frozen Lemonade)
Lime juice (just enough to remove bite)

Mix Equal amounts of Bourbon and Water with Lemonade per instructions
(if lemonade calls for 4 Quarts water use 2 Quarts Bourbon and 2 Quarts

1 Liter Vodka
2 Quarts Apple Juice
1 Liter Ginger Ale
1 Pint Orange Juice
1 Dozen Mint sprigs

1 Half Gallon of Apple Juice
1 Pint of Everclear
Nutmeg or Cinnamon

Combine apple juice and nutmeg or cinnamon,  boil, let cool, add pint of everclear. Serve Warm

1 Half Gallon of Cranberry Juice
1 Pint 151
1 Ounce of Cherry Juice

1 Cup Heather Flowers
1 Cup Woodruff Speigs
1 Cup Meadow Sweet
1 Cup Barley Malt
1 Cup Honey

Boil the Heather, Woodruff and Meadow Sweet in 40 cups of water for 1 hour
Remove from fire and add Barley and Honey
Strain and let cool till 70°
Add (if needed) 1 oz good yeast
Let stand for 24 Hours
